Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a man lost his life after being viciously attacked by a swarm of honey bees while collecting mahul flowers in Gulujipali village under Jamanakira block in Sambalpur district.
The deceased has been identified as Basudev Kisan, a resident of Gulujipali village.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Kisan was gathering mahua flowers. Suddenly, a swarm of bees attacked him. In a desperate attempt to escape and save his life, he ran towards a nearby waterbody and immersed his head in the water. However, the bees continued to sting every exposed part of his body. After some time, his wife and two other persons nearby pulled him out of the water and rushed him to the Phashimal Hospital where he was declared dead.
