Puri: In a shocking incident, a man was found murdered near SCS (Autonomous) College Square under the jurisdiction of Puri Town Police Station on Friday. The victim had sustained severe stomach injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Smarak C alias Kuna, a resident of the Jaleswar area in Balasore district. He was employed as a helper in a local hotel in Puri.
According to Puri Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh, police officials were immediately dispatched to the scene after the body was reported.
“The victim had multiple injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. We are securing the area and have registered a murder case. The forensic team has also reached the spot to assist with the investigation,” SP Singh said.
The investigation is currently underway.
