Bhubaneswar: A 33-year-old man allegedly killed his wife following a heated argument and later died by suicide by hanging himself at Dadaraghati village under Parjang police station in Dhenkanal district on Saturday night, police said.
The deceased were identified as Mithun Nayak (33) and his wife, Rasmita Nayak (30).
According to preliminary investigation, the couple had a heated argument at their home on Saturday night. During the altercation, Mithun allegedly assaulted Rasmita, resulting in her death.
He subsequently allegedly locked their children in another room and hanged himself, said SDPO (Kamakhyanagar) Chittaranjan Behera.
Further details are awaited as the investigation is underway, police said.
