Berhampur: In a ghastly act, a man strangled his newly-wed wife to death, chopped the body into several parts, and dumped them in the Rushikulya River before surrendering to the police on Thursday.
The gruesome incident was reported from Bhagbanpur village under Sorda police limits of Odisha’s Ganjam district.
According to reports, one Narayan Muli killed his wife Buli Muli by strangulating her with a belt, chopped her body into pieces, and dumped them in the river.
Later, he went to the police station and confessed his crime. While the police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder, they went to the riverside along with the accused and searched for Buli’s body parts. However, the effort was in vain. The police have registered a case against Narayan and started an investigation.
The couple reportedly had a love marriage and tied the knot just three months back after the approval of their families. Apparently, the couple led a happy life until Narayan killed her.
