Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Manoj Ahuja was on Friday appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha.
“On repatriation from Government of India Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS (RR-1990) is appointed as Chief Secretary, Odisha and Secretary to Government, General Administration and Public Grievance Department consequent upon the retirement of Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS w.e.f. 30.06.2024(AN),” read a notification issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department on Friday.
The six-month extension of the incumbent Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena will end on June 30.
Before his repatriation to the parent cadre at the request of the Odisha government, Ahuja served as the Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Ahuja has held several posts like joint director (Personnel Training/Personnel & General Administration) at the Centre and Commissioner-cum-Secretary in the Steel and Mines and Sports and Youth Services departments in Odisha. He has also served as the Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education.
