Bhubaneswar: The third day of the Odisha Assembly Session witnessed chaos and uproar as members of the opposition Biju Janata Dal and Congress created an uproar in the House.
According to sources, the commotion started right from the beginning of the question hour, with BJD members storming out of the House. Congress members followed suit, entering the middle of the House and raising slogans. Speaker Surama Padhi adjourned the House till 11.30 am due to the unrest.
While BJD MLAs staged a walkout over inaction against Odisha Governor’s son for allegedly assaulting an ASO, Congress MLAs created a ruckus alleging neglect of Odisha in Union Budget 2024, sources said.
On the first and second day of the Assembly, the Opposition BJD and Congress MLAs walked out of the House demanding the same as soon as Governor Raghubar Das began his address.
It is pertinent to mention that the Assembly session will continue till September 13 with 27 working days.
