Bhubaneswar: Science and Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Monday conducted a high-level review after a section of the boundary wall at the Pathani Samanta Planetarium collapsed due to heavy rainfall.
The review meeting, held in the morning, was attended by Principal Secretary Chitra Arumugam, Additional Secretary Shibani Mohanty, Financial Advisor Bidyut Prabha Rout, and other senior officials of the department.
Minister Patra directed the formation of a departmental team to investigate the incident and ascertain the exact cause of the wall collapse.
He also instructed officials to ensure immediate reconstruction of the damaged portion to avoid inconvenience and safety concerns.
The wall collapse on the southern side of the planetarium on Sunday had triggered concern among local residents.
Taking note of the issue, the minister acted promptly and called for accountability as well as preventive measures.
