Bhubaneswar: A minor girl who had gone to her aunt’s house on Sunday was found dead in a jungle near her aunt’s village in Sundargarh district. The family has alleged murder and filed a complaint at the Lahuniapada police station.
According to sources, the girl had gone to her aunt’s house in Bhaliadihi village but didn’t return home on Wednesday. Her family and aunt’s family made a desperate search for her but couldn’t find her. On Wednesday evening, the girl’s body was found dead in a jungle near her aunt’s village with injury marks on her body.
On a tip-off, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Police also launched an investigation to unravel the mystery behind her death.
The deceased’s family members, meanwhile, alleged that the girl was murdered and demanded justice. Besides, they have urged police to arrest the culprit.
Till the last report came in, police are yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident.
