Bhubaneswar: The body of a man, who had gone missing from Unit-1 area of the city on November 9 evening was found under mysterious circumstances in a paddy field near Olatpur under Kantapada tehsil in Cuttack district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Kelucharan Routray of Unit-1 area.
Deceased Kelucharan’s brother Bishnu Prasad Routray has claimed that eyes were gouged out of his brother’s body while there were cuts on the abdomen and chest.
Bishnu Prasad suspects that his brother’s eyes and kidneys were removed by organ trafficking racket.
He said on evening of November 9 his brother complained of illness and had vomitted several times. Quoting eyewitnesses he said that his brother had called 108 Ambulance Service and had boarded the same.
Bishnu Prasad has alleged that his brother went missing after that. He said they had checked with Capital Hospital. He, however, claimed that his brother’s name did not figure in the Capital Hospital register.
After frantically searching for his brother in vain he lodged a missing person complaint at the Capital police station.
He said that early morning on Friday, the deceased’s daughter received a phone call from Olatpur police station that her father’s body was lying in a paddy field. He said that he identified the body to be of his brother’s following which police got a post-mortem conducted.
