Bhubaneswar: The body of a 70-year-old woman from Kuradaposhi village under Kundheigola police station in Deogarh police station, was recovered from the Tikira River on Friday.
The deceased woman is Rangabati, wife of late Kunja Bihari Pradhan.
According to reports, Rangabati had gone missing four days ago, and her family had lodged a missing complaint with the Kundheigola police in this regard.
Some locals spotted Rangabati’s body floating in the Tikira River near the Tikira bridge on Friday morning. They informed Rangabati’s family members, who then alerted the police. The Kundheigola police rushed to the scene and recovered the body.
The police have registered an unnatural death case and started an investigation into the matter. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained and will be determined after a post-mortem examination.
While the exact cause of death is still unknown, the police are working to determine whether it was an accident, foul play, or something else.
