Bhubaneswar: A woman and her daughter were killed after a truck ran over them on National Highway 26 in Balangir town on Tuesday. The incident took place near the Bajaj showroom in Gandhi Nagar Pada.
According to reports, the mother and daughter were travelling on a scooter when a truck hit them. Both of them died on the spot. The truck driver, however, managed tp flee the spot after the accident and is absconding
Sources said the daughter was dropping her mother, who worked at a nursing home, when the accident occurred. Police reached the scene after being informed, recovered the bodies, and have started an investigation.
