Bhubaneswar: The Nabajouban Darshan period of Lord Jagannath on July 14 will be relatively short this year, SJTA Chief Administrator Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee informed after the final review meeting ahead of the Rath Yatra.
Briefing the media on the temple’s preparations, Dr. Padhee said darshan of Mahaprabhu will be completely closed for devotees on July 15, the day of ‘Ubha’.He also announced strict rules for the Rath Yatra.
“No unauthorized person is allowed to ride the chariot. If anyone disobeys, action will be taken,” he said.
Use of mobile phones on the chariots will be completely banned.
“Video cameras will monitor the use of secret mobile phones and other gadgets,” the SJTA chief added.
For better crowd and chariot management, this year two sets of chariot ropes will be kept in use.
The SJTA has urged all devotees to cooperate with the temple administration and security personnel to ensure smooth and disciplined conduct of the world-famous Rath Yatra.
