Bhubaneswar: The body of Naib Sarpanch of Dambsara grama panchayat in Rayagada district was recovered from her residence under mysterious circumstances on Friday.
According to reports, Ranjita Tripathy was married to Narasingha Tripathy of Dambasara village. Following her marriage, Ranjita had allegedly been subjected to mental torture and physical abuse by her husband.
Meanwhile, Gunupur police have detained Narasingha for interrogation. Ranjita’s sister has filed a complaint at the Gunpur police station, accusing Narasingha of murdering her sister.
The police are currently investigating the case to determine whether it was a homicide or an accidental death.
