Bhubaneswar: Three schoolgirls were hospitalized after consuming deworming pills at Taria Baidhara High School in Tarabhaipur village under Ranpur block in Nayagarh district.
According to sources, Class X students were made to consume deworm pills to mark National Deworming Day. The girls, identified as Preeti Priyadarshini Samantaray, Sandhyarani Mal, and Anjali Mal, all Class X students, complained of illness shortly after taking the pills.
School authorities immediately rushed them to the nearby Ranpur Community Health Centre, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
According to doctors, the girls are out of danger and will be kept under observation for 24 hours before being discharged.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and administration of deworming pills in schools.
