Naveen Announces Candidates For Six More LS Seats; Arup Patnaik From Puri, Santrupt From Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Hours after the announcement of first phase list of BJD’s Lok Sabha candidates, party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday evening declared the names for six more Lok Sabha constituencies.

“I seek your blessings with the announcement of second phase list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections,” Patnaik said while announcing the names of the candidates.

As per his announcement, Arup Patnaik, who had unsuccessfully contested from Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat in 2019, will fight from Puri this time. Abinas Samal will contest from Dhenkanal as a new face by replacing sitting MP Mahesh Sahu.

Santrupta Mishra, who had recently joined the party after quitting his corporate job, has been given the ticket for Cuttack Lok Sabha segment while sitting MP Rajashree Mallick will again fight from Jagatsinghpur.

Sitting MP from Kandhamal Achyut Samant has been fielded again from the same segment while Sarmistha Sethy has again been nominated by the party supremo to contest from Jajpur parliamentary constituency.

Earlier in the day, CM Naveen Patnaik announced names of candidates for nine Lok Sabha and 54 Assembly constituencies.
