Bhubaneswar: Acting on allegations of amassing disproportionate assets by Panchanan Behera, MVI, Nayagarh, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday launched simultaneous house searches at properties linked to Behera. The searches are being led by 6 DSPs, 3 Inspectors, 8 ASIs, and other staff of Odisha Vigilance.
The searches are being conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, at the following seven places in Khurdha (Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, and Cuttack districts:
- A double-storeyed building located at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
- A single-storeyed house located at Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
- A rented house of Behera located at Nayagarh.
- The office chamber of Behera located in the premises of the office of Nayagarh RTO.
- Behera’s paternal house located at Baliapada village in Salipur of Cuttack district.
- A house of his relative located at Govindpur village under Nilgiripatna police limits in Khurdha district.
- The house of another relative of Behera located at Satya Vihar, Pandara in Bhubaneswar.
The searches are in progress and a further report is awaited.
