Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper leak case, has arrested another person in connection with the scam. The accused, identified as Susanta Samanta (34), was arrested from Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

According to reports, the CBI produced the accused before the CBI Court of Executive Magistrate and has been granted a five-day remand of Samanta.

The CBI had requested to take Samanta on a 10-day remand, but the court on Monday allowed the central investigating agency to take the accused on a five-day remand.

It is worth mentioning here that Patna Police uncovered the NEET question paper leak on May 5 this year. After an initial probe into the case by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police, the case was transferred to the CBI.
