Bhubaneswar: Two women from Odisha stranded in Nepal amid the devastating flood situation have reached the Raxaul post safely and entered India, while an Odisha coach and six players are safe at Pokhara, the state government said on Saturday.
According to the latest information shared by the Odisha government, Kulsum Nigar of Baripada and Deepika Ekka of Sundergarh have safely reached the Raxaul post and crossed into India.
Coach Halim, along with six other players from Odisha, are safe at Pokhara, the government said.
Meanwhile, Gunnam Jay Krishna of Bargarh district has been reported safe in Nepal. His location has been shared with the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate contact with him.
However, his wife Gunnam Sai Bindu Kumari and daughter Gunnam Hareskha continue to remain missing, according to the state government’s update.
The Odisha government has also listed two persons from the state as missing — Sandeep Mohapatra of Khordha district, who has been staying in Australia since 2018, and his wife Sidharthi Kumari Sahu.
