Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, Penthakata Marine Police arrested a woman for allegedly poisoning her two minor children to death in Puri.
According to police, the woman, a resident of Samangara Nuasahi area under Penthakata Marine police limits, allegedly mixed pesticide in a soft drink and fed it to her 6-year-old daughter and a toddler.
The two children died in August under suspicious circumstances. The bodies were sent to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
Police along with a forensic team investigated the matter and arrested the mother on charges of murder.
The children’s father, identified as Deepu, works as a marble mason. The couple had been living in a rented house a short distance from their family home since their marriage.
Further investigation is underway.
