Cuttack: In a new twist to the woman cricketer Rajshree Swain’s mysterious death case, police have recovered a two-line handwritten letter from the Gurdijihadia forest in Cuttack district.

The letter recovered from the dickey of the deceased woman cricketer’s scooter claims that a member of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is responsible for Rajshree’s death. Now, the police will undertake a forensic examination of the handwritten letter to ascertain who actually wrote it.

The police also plan to send the letter to a handwriting expert for verification.

It is worth mentioning here that Rajasree had gone missing since January 11 after failing to qualify to play for the Odisha team in a national-level tournament scheduled to be held in Puducherry. Soon after, the OCA lodged a missing person complaint with Mangalabag police in Cuttack.

The police recovered her body from a forest in Atagarh on Friday and sent it for post-mortem at the SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

The Gurudijhatia police handed over the body of the Odisha woman cricketer to her family members after the autopsy on Friday evening. Police said that Rajashree’s cause of death will be only known after the autopsy report is available.

On the other hand, the woman cricketer’s father Gobinda Swain has alleged that his daughter has been murdered. Gobinda has filed a complaint at Mangalabag police station here alleging that his daughter was murdered.

“She has been murdered and then hanged. There were injury marks on her face.  Two-three months back she had told that four women cricketers were being harassed by the OCA people. I have filed a complaint at the Mangalabag police station that my daughter has been murdered,” said Gobinda speaking to reporters here on Friday.

Earlier in the day, the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) came out with a clarification rubbishing allegations of irregularities in the players’ selection process at the Bajrakabati selection camp.
