Bhubaneswar: A local newspaper hawker was charred to death after his house caught fire in Keonjhar district, on Thursday late night.
The deceased has been identified as Debendra Mishra, a local.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out at Mishra’s home on Thursday night when Mishra was alone at his home. And by the time it was noticed, it had already spread rapidly, engulfing the house. Local residents promptly alerted the fire brigade officers, and subsequently a rescue operation was launched by police and fire department personnel.
Despite their best efforts, Mishra couldn’t be saved due to the intensity of fire. The fire department personnel worked tirelessly to douse the flames and bring the situation under control.
The cause of the blaze remains unclear, and police have begun an investigation into the incident to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the fire.
