Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday informed that it has not issued any information or forecast regarding a Cyclone.
It asserted that it is not scientifically acceptable to predict any weather event seven days in advance. The IMD said that is working round the clock to provide accurate weather-related information and asked people to stay away from rumours.
The weather agency issued the explanation following the reports about the possibility of the formation of a Super Cyclone in the Bay of Bengal between 18-25 October.
