Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to get hotter again in the coming days after rainfall led to a brief respite from heatwave conditions this week. The maximum day temperature will rise gradually by 2-4 Degree Celsius at many places across Odisha during the next three days. There will be no major change in the maximum day temperature, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for the week ahead.
Odisha witnessed a remarkable drop in day temperature after a nor’wester hit 10 districts of the state, bringing relief to many parts of Odisha.
According to regional IMD prediction, the mercury level is expected to rise by 2 degree C to 3 degree C across many places of the state after four days, but the day temperature is expected to remain normal during most parts the week. The met office predicted the day temperature will remain between 36 degree C and 38 degree C in the capital city till Saturday.
“Rainfall activity will occur in the state due to the moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal. As a result, light to moderate rainfall and thundershower activity is expected at many places till Thursday”, director of IMD, Odisha Dr Manorama Mohanty was quoted saying on Monday.
As per the weather report, light rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur today.
