Bhubaneswar: “Those who will not implement it, their salary will be withheld,” said Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday, issuing a strong warning to college authorities who fail to establish Internal Complaints Committees (ICC) under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act.
The Deputy CM announced that the state government has given all colleges a one-month deadline to constitute ICCs as mandated by law to ensure safe and inclusive campuses for students and staff. She further emphasized that while the rights of genuine complainants will be protected, anyone found misusing the Act by filing false allegations will face action under its provisions.
To strengthen implementation and awareness, Parida added that the POSH awareness campaign, which was launched from Lok Seva Bhawan, will now be extended to institutions at the block level.
The move underscores the government’s push for stricter enforcement of POSH guidelines across state’s educational institutions and aims to foster a more accountable and secure environment for all.
