No Relief From Heatwave; Titilagarh Sizzles At 44.5 Degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: The heatwave continued to grip Odisha on Tuesday, particularly in the western parts of the state, with temperatures soaring dangerously high.

Titilagarh recorded the highest temperature in the state at 44.5 degrees Celsius, while as many as nine towns registered mercury levels above 43 degrees.

Sambalpur sizzled at 44.4°C, followed by Hirakud, Bhawanipatna, and Nuapada, each recording 44°C. Sonepur and Boudh both touched 43.8°C, Jharsuguda recorded 43.4°C, and Bolangir stood at 43.2°C.

The intense heat has raised concerns among residents, with no immediate relief expected in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department stated the heatwave condition is likely to continue till May 28.
