Cuttack: Nursing Officers across government hospitals in Odisha wore black badges to press on their 10-point charter of demands from Wednesday and have threatened to cease work from August 27 if the State government fails to fulfil their demands.
“Despite placing our demands before the government on several occasions nothing has been resolved. In response to the call given by our Odisha Nursing Employees Association we have resorted to agitation in support of our demands from today,” informed Sarojini Jena, Secretary, Odisha Nursing Employees’ Association speaking to reporters at SCB Medical College & Hospital here.
Jena said that if their demands are not met they will resort to cease work from August 27.
“Since we do not want patient care services to be affected therefore from today till August 20 we will wear black badges, from August 21 we will resort to a token strike without affecting patient care on August 23 we will hold a massive rally at Bhubaneswar. And if still the government remains indifferent we will go for cease work on August 27,” Jena clarified.
