Bhubaneswar: The ‘Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition’ organised by Odisha Police at the IDCO Exhibition Grounds created an vibrant and educational atmosphere today, attracting a large number of visitors from diverse sections of society eager to learn about India’s revamped criminal justice system.

The exhibition, inaugurated on March 6, 2026, by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, showcases the three landmark laws — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — which replaced colonial-era codes like the IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act effective July 1, 2024.

Students, conscious citizens, intellectuals, auto drivers’ association members, and volunteers from various organisations flocked to the venue. Through interactive digital displays, information panels, and interpretive exhibits across 10 stalls approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs, visitors gained detailed insights into the justice process “from crime scene to High Court.”

Key highlights include crime scene management, 112 emergency services, police station operations, hospital coordination, forensic labs, public prosecution, district courts, prisons, and High Court procedures. Special sections focus on police modernisation, empowerment, crime prevention against women, the Special Operations Group (SOG)’s role in Maoist suppression, and the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF)’s contributions during natural calamities. Emphasis is placed on modern, technology-driven investigations, time-bound justice, victim-centric approaches, and digital policing.

The primary goal is to raise public awareness about these historic reforms, promoting a justice-oriented system with citizen participation. Odisha Police has appealed to the public to visit in large numbers before the exhibition concludes on March 10, 2026.

“The Nyaya Sanhita Exhibition reflects Odisha Police’s commitment to creating awareness about the historic changes in India’s criminal justice system. We are dedicated to ensuring timely justice through scientific investigations, modern technology, and active citizen involvement,” said officials. This initiative marks a significant step in bridging the gap between the public and the evolving legal framework.
