Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd. (OCCL) celebrated its 63rd Foundation Day on Thursday with a special workshop on “Vision OCCL @ 2036 and Vision OCCL @ 2047” held at the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar.

According to an official press release, the event was an important milestone for the organization as it reflected on over six decades of achievements while laying out ambitious plans for the future.

Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary and Chairperson of OCCL, Anu Garg, presided over the event as the chief guest.

In her address, Garg congratulated the OCCL team for their contributions and highlighted the need for the corporation to strengthen its technical capacity.

She stressed the importance of including mechanical experts in key operational areas and improving the quality of work to match national standards.

She added that OCCL’s growing ability to take up infrastructure projects across departments, not only within Odisha but also outside the state, is a sign of its growing self-sufficiency and reputation.

The Managing Director of OCCL, Bibhuti Bhusan Dash, opened the event with a presentation on the journey of the organization since its founding in 1962. He spoke about OCCL’s consistent record of success and its significant role in the state’s infrastructure development, particularly in irrigation, power, roads, and building construction.

The workshop also featured a series of expert presentations by senior professionals from engineering and academic fields.

They shared insights on how OCCL can modernize its operations, adapt to emerging technologies, and expand its footprint nationally. Their inputs were followed by a vibrant brainstorming session that saw participation from senior officials of the Water Resources Department, including Engineers-in-Chief, Chief Engineers, and Additional Chief Engineers, along with members of OCCL and other dignitaries.

Discussions focused on defining OCCL’s future course and strengthening its ability to deliver high-quality infrastructure in a competitive environment.

The Foundation Day workshop marked a turning point in OCCL’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to quality, innovation, and growth. It reflected a shared vision of transforming OCCL into a nationally recognized construction leader by 2047, while continuing to serve as a pillar of Odisha’s development.
