Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department has released the admission schedule for postgraduate (PG) courses for the 2026-27 academic session, with admissions to be conducted on the basis of marks secured in the Common PG Entrance Test.
According to the notification, candidates will be able to lock their preferred choices of higher education institutions on the SAMS portal from 3 pm on July 27 until 11:45 pm on August 2.
The first merit list is scheduled to be published at 4 pm on August 7. Candidates shortlisted in the first round can exercise the Freeze, Slide or Float options on the SAMS portal between 6 pm on August 7 and 4 pm on August 11.
The department said the second merit list will be released at 4 pm on August 17, while first-year postgraduate classes across higher education institutions will commence on August 21.
For the 2026-27 academic year, a total of 32,531 postgraduate seats are available in 135 higher education institutions functioning under the Higher Education Department, offering students admission to a wide range of PG programmes across the state.
