Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to streamline recruitment and enhance management of Excise Constables, the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved amendment to the Odisha Lower Excise Services (Employment Procedures and Service Regulations of Excise Constables) Rules, 2023.
The key change transitions the cadre of Excise Constables from Divisional Cadre to District Cadre, a decision aimed at improving operational efficiency within the Excise Department.
The restructuring addresses long-standing challenges in the recruitment and administration of Excise Constables by aligning their services with district-level requirements.
