Bhubaneswar: The Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet has approved the empanelment of two Odisha cadre IAS officers, Ranjana Chopra and Santosh Kumar Sarangi and 35 other senior bureaucrats from other States for holding Secretary or Secretary equivalent posts at the Centre.
Santosh Sarangi, a 1994 batch IAS officer, has been serving as as the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) since 24 January 2022.
Ranjana Chopra, another accomplished officer from the same batch, is presently serving as the Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor (AS & FA) in the Ministry of Culture.
Both the accomplished officers have garnered recognition for their unwavering integrity and diligent work ethic in their respective fields.
Out of the total 37 officers, 27 are of the 1994 batch, including PMO Additional Secretary Atish Chandra. This is the first Secretary-level empanelment list of 1994-batch IAS officers.
As per the latest edition of the draft Civil List, there were 68 IAS officers of the 1994 batch at the beginning of this year.
