Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen the State Vigilance Directorate and intensify the fight against corruption, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the creation of 48 new posts in the department.
The decision aligns with the Chief Minister’s commitment to taking strict action against corruption, particularly at higher levels of governance.
The newly sanctioned positions include 8 Additional Superintendents of Police (ASPs), 24 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and 16 Sub-Inspectors (SIs). This expansion is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of the Vigilance Directorate, enabling it to address corruption cases more effectively across the state.
The Chief Minister’s decision underscores his tough stance on corruption and his administration’s focus on ensuring transparency and accountability in public offices. The creation of these posts is seen as a proactive step toward bolstering Odisha’s anti-corruption framework.
The move is also expected to accelerate ongoing investigations, improve case disposal rates, and strengthen monitoring mechanisms to curb malpractices at all levels.
