Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to hike the salary of junior teachers appointed in Primary Schools across the State by 50 percent.
Accordingly, the current salary of contractual junior teachers has been increased from Rs 7400 to Rs 11,000. Similarly, the salary of junior teachers has been increased from Rs 9,200 to Rs 13,800.
It will benefit a total of 33,038 junior teachers including 13,324 contractual and 19,714 permanent junior teachers
The salary hike will take effect retrospectively from January 1, 2022. The State Government will spend Rs 168 crore annually on this.
