Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday declared the Odia film Aafaa, directed by Pritiraj Satpathy and produced by Naina Das Tiwari, tax-free in the state.
The Chief Minister approved the proposal, recognising the film’s social message centred on organ donation and its potential to create awareness, particularly among the youth.
Aafaa tells the story of a 16-year-old girl battling a prolonged serious illness who chooses to donate her organs. The state government said the film highlights courage, compassion and humanity, and is expected to inspire people while promoting awareness about organ donation.
The government expressed hope that the film would help foster a positive social outlook and encourage greater public awareness on the importance of organ donation.
