Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has extended the deadline for submission of application forms for the Annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination-2027 to August 14 in view of the flood situation affecting several parts of the state.
The Board announced the decision on Friday, replacing the earlier deadline of July 31 after widespread flooding disrupted normal life in many districts and created difficulties for schools and students in completing the online form fill-up process.
According to BSE, flood-related disruptions, including transportation problems, poor internet connectivity and other logistical challenges, have prevented many students from submitting their examination forms within the stipulated time. The extension has been granted to ensure that eligible candidates from affected areas are not disadvantaged.
The Board has instructed all school authorities to complete the form fill-up process for eligible students within the revised deadline. It has also urged headmasters, school authorities and students to avoid waiting until the final day and submit the forms at the earliest to prevent any last-minute technical or logistical issues.
BSE said the revised schedule is intended to ensure that no eligible student is deprived of appearing for the Matric Examination-2027 because of the disruptions caused by the ongoing floods across the state.
