Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Fire & Emergency Service had a busy 24 hours, attending a total of 96 emergency calls across the state.
As per the 24 hour incident summary released by the department, out of the 96 calls, 17 were fire calls and 79 were special service calls.
Under special calls, the Fire Services teams attended 7 road accident calls and saved 10 human lives. They also attended 7 drowning calls. The highest number of calls were related to animal rescue. The department attended 45 animal rescue calls and saved 45 animal lives.
Apart from this, the teams attended 9 calls for tree cutting and road clearance and 1 dewatering call during the period.
