Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards promoting equitable access to competitive examinations, the Odisha Higher Education Department has launched a special initiative to provide free coaching for the UPSC Civil Services Examination to aspirants from the state.
The program, set to begin accepting applications from June 3, 2025, offers comprehensive coaching for both the Preliminary and Mains stages of the UPSC examination. A total of 500 eligible candidates, who must be domiciled in Odisha, will be selected to receive 11 months of free coaching. The curriculum will cover General Studies as well as selected Optional subjects.
The initiative aims to nurture and empower young talent across Odisha by providing quality academic support and removing financial barriers that often hinder participation in highly competitive national examinations.
Applications are to be submitted online through the official Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal at www.samsodisha.gov.in. Candidates who have already applied under a previous notification for the 2025–26 session are not required to reapply. However, they must indicate their preference for residential or non-residential coaching.
Important Dates:
- Application Opens: June 3, 2025 (from 12 noon)
- Last Date to Apply: June 12, 2025 (till 11.45 pm)
- Data Forwarded to SSB: By June 15, 2025
- Admit Cards Available: July 1, 2025 (on ssbodisha.ac.in)
- Entrance Examination: July 6, 2025
The State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha, will oversee the selection process and conduct the entrance examination to identify the final list of candidates.
