Bhubaneswar: In view of the flood situation in the State, the Odisha government today announced to waive users’ fees for treatment and vaccination of livestock.
A proposal in this regard was approved by Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain, said an official.
In veterinary health camps being organised in flood-affected areas as a relief measure user fees for treatment and immunization of livestock have been waived for a period of 15 days from August 16.
Further, users’ fees for testing of blood, stool, etc required for treatment of livestock have been also waived for the aforementioned period.
In addition to this, instructions have been issued for extensively organising free veterinary health camps for the treatment and immunization of livestock in flood-affected areas.
That apart, a directive has been issued for providing cattle feed to dairy farmers as per SDRF guidelines.
Field officers have been directed that protecting and providing immediate treatment to livestock is the top priority of the government in flood-affected areas, Principal Secretary of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department Arvind Padhee has written letters to all District Collectors and Chief District Veterinary Officers.
