Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department has issued the notification for admission into undergraduate programmes for the academic session 2026–27. In this context, the admission process for the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) has also commenced.
Students can apply for the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme through the SAMS portal till 10th June, 2026.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 places special emphasis on skill development and enhancing employment opportunities for students. In line with this objective, the Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme is playing a significant role in integrating academic learning with industry exposure.
For the academic year 2026–27, AEDP is being offered in 11 subjects, namely Commerce, Home Science, Economics, History, English, Zoology, Mathematics, Library Science, Chemistry, Geology and Botany. Students can enroll in these programmes after completing their +2 education.
The Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme will provide students with industry experience alongside academic education and help create better employment opportunities for them.
The Higher Education Department has informed that students enrolled in the AEDP will be provided with a one-year apprenticeship opportunity during the third year of the course. The programme also includes a provision for payment of stipend during the apprenticeship period.
