Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has launched ‘Gramodaya’, a comprehensive program aimed at developing areas affected by left-wing Naxalism. The initiative focuses on ensuring 100% coverage of government schemes across 583 villages in 10 affected districts.
Chaired by the Chief Secretary, a state-level monitoring committee will oversee the program’s progress. ‘Gramodaya’ comprises two main components i.e. providing complete benefits to villages and individual beneficiaries.
It has been launched to bring 100% benefits of all government schemes to 583 villages in ten districts including Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Rayagada affected by left-wing Naxalism.
All government departments will collaborate to implement 31 village-focused and 44 beneficiary-focused schemes. Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department will act as the nodal department. A multilevel monitoring system will ensure effective implementation.
The program includes grassroots awareness campaigns, village meetings, and grievance hearings to ensure its success.
