Bhubaneswar: Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Wednesday launched a WhatsApp-based chatbot named ‘Ama Saathi’ to make key revenue services easily accessible to citizens without visiting the government offices.
The chatbot, available on 9437292000, will initially offer 16 services of the Revenue Department, with two more services to be added later.
Citizens can now apply for land mutation, change of land category (kisam), marriage registration, society registration, and caste, income and residential certificates through the platform. Land records and patta details available on Bhulekh can also be accessed via the chatbot.
People will be able to submit applications and track their status from the comfort of their homes.
According to the department, the chatbot has already facilitated more than one crore corrections under the service.
The minister noted that the initiative has been introduced keeping in mind the widespread use of WhatsApp in the state, with an estimated 1.65 crore users in Odisha.
Minister Pujari further said the platform will significantly reduce the need for people to visit offices and will also allow citizens to access important revenue services from home even during natural disasters.
