National Panchayat Awards 2025

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday lauded the outstanding performance of Odisha’s Panchayats, which collectively secured five awards at the National Panchayat Awards 2025.

Describing it as a “moment of great honour for the state,” the Chief Minister said the achievement highlights the strength of grassroots governance and the effectiveness of collective participation in rural development.

Among the key recognitions, Ganjam district was conferred with the prestigious Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar–2025, ranking as the second-best district panchayat in the country. Potalampur Panchayat of Ganjam district received the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar–2025 under the category of Healthy Panchayat, while Mandar Panchayat from the same district was honoured in the category of Socially Just and Socially Secure Panchayat.

In Keonjhar district, Padua Panchayat was awarded under the Water-Sufficient Panchayat category, while Hatibandha Panchayat of Sundargarh district received recognition in the Clean and Green Panchayat category.

Congratulating the award-winning Panchayats, the Chief Minister appreciated elected representatives, administrative officials, and local communities for their collective efforts in achieving this milestone. He stated that the success reflects how strong community participation can bring meaningful transformation at the grassroots level.

Majhi further said that such achievements reinforce the vision of a “Viksit Odisha” and expressed confidence that Panchayats across the state will continue to set new benchmarks in inclusive and sustainable rural development in the years ahead.
