Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) is likely to begin revalidation of candidates’ details for the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examination within a week, its chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain said on Monday.
Swain said candidates who had applied for the SI posts would have to revalidate their details, including email IDs, mobile numbers and other credentials, before admit cards are issued.
“Within a week, candidates who had applied for the SI posts will have to revalidate their details, including whether they have the same email ID and mobile number. Once they complete the revalidation, they will get their admit cards,” Swain said while speaking to a regional television channel.
He said the Commission was currently working on the candidates’ data, which had undergone investigation and forensic examination.
“The candidates’ data was going through an investigation process and was also examined by the court and forensic laboratory. We have collected the required data and expect to complete the process soon, within a week,” he said.
Officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which provides technical services to the Commission, have been deployed for the work and are working on weekends as well, Swain said.
“As we did not have the required data with us and had to retrieve it from the middle of the process, we have to revalidate it. We are doing that work now,” he said.
The chairman said the Commission would communicate details of the revalidation process to candidates through its website and the media.
He also said the Commission currently did not have official social media accounts and that he had requested the secretary to open accounts on X and Facebook to facilitate direct communication with candidates.
The SI recruitment examination, conducted under the Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE)-2024, was postponed following a question paper leak and alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
The examination was earlier scheduled to be held on October 5 and 6, 2025, but was deferred by the Odisha government following the alleged question paper leak.
The Commission had earlier indicated that the examination could be completed by October. However, Swain did not give a fresh assurance on the examination date in his latest statement and instead focused on the revalidation of candidates’ details and the subsequent issuance of admit cards.
Candidates had also sought age relaxation following the delay in the recruitment process.
Swain said the issue of three-year age relaxation had been taken up and that the necessary arrangements were in place.
Further details regarding the revalidation process are expected to be made available on the Commission’s website once the technical work is completed.
