Bhubaneswar: Scorching heat continued to grip Odisha on Sunday as day temperatures soared, with the mercury touching 41°C by 11:30 am.
Jharsuguda was the hottest at 41.4°C. Rourkela and Sambalpur recorded 39.4°C, followed by Hirakud at 38.4°C. Keonjhar registered 36.6°C and Chandbali 36°C.
Coastal areas remained comparatively cooler. Bhubaneswar recorded 34.6°C, Balasore 34.2°C, Paradip 31.2°C, Puri 30.8°C, and Gopalpur 30.4°C. The India Meteorological Department has said hot and humid conditions are likely to continue in several districts.
