Bhubaneswar: Odisha tableau today participated in the full dress rehearsal for the Republic Day parade at Kartavyapath in New Delhi.
The tableau showcased the women empowerment with the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of heritage crafts village Raghurajpur in Puri district.
The giant marvelous tableau with 45 feet length, 14 feet width and 16 feet height, came out of Rashtriya Rangshala Camp at 10:00 pm on Monday and proceeded towards the Parliament building.
The tableau rolled on the road at 1.30 am today as the fifth tableau soon after the rehearsal parade of the women contingents.
Women artisans of Odisha showed the preparation of appliqué and Pattachitra atop the tableau, while danseuses from Lakhya Kalabikas Kendra of Gopalpur in Balasore performed Sambaluri dance on both sides of the tableau.
After getting the approval of the central government, works of the tableau was undertaken by a Bhubaneswar-based organisation- Imagery at the Rashtriya Rangasala Camp from January 7.
The tableau was constructed under the direct supervision of the Information of Public Relations department.
