Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will take a decision on whether to extend the deadline for fresh applications under the Subhadra Yojana after April 30, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said on Tuesday.
Parida said the final call will be taken after a review of the application status at the end of the month, even as she acknowledged that the number of applications received so far is significantly below expectations.
The current deadline for submission of applications under the scheme—meant for eligible women beneficiaries, particularly those who have attained 21 years of age as on April 1, 2026—is the end of this month.
“If technical difficulties arise anywhere, instructions have been issued to allow an additional five days for eligible beneficiaries to submit their applications,” Parida said while briefing mediapersons here.
She said the government remains committed to ensuring that all eligible women are covered under the scheme. However, she added that a decision on keeping the application window open or closing it will depend on the outcome of the review meeting scheduled for April 30.
