Bhubaneswar: Odisha will now pay fuel stations in advance for petrol and diesel used by government vehicles to keep operations running without disruption. The Finance Department has issued the order.
Under the new policy, the government will clear two months of estimated fuel costs upfront for all official vehicles. The step aims to prevent any halt in services due to fuel shortages or payment delays.
Officials said the decision was taken as a precaution amid uncertainty in global crude oil supply and pricing linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
The advance payment model is part of the State’s strategy to safeguard administrative work and essential services from possible market volatility.
