Bhubaneswar: Odisha Tourism has secured two major recognitions at the Great Indian Travel Bazaar held in Jaipur, reinforcing the State’s growing stature in the global tourism landscape.
The State was conferred the Travel & Tourism Excellence Award 2026 for “Outstanding Contribution in Tourism Development”, in recognition of its sustained efforts in strengthening tourism infrastructure, policy support, and destination promotion. In another significant achievement, Odisha Tourism received the award for “Best Stall in the Public Sector Category”, appreciating the pavilion’s immersive design, innovative presentation, and experiential storytelling.
Odisha Tourism made a strong and strategic impact at the event, further supported by a delegation of 11 co-exhibitors representing tour operators, hospitality stakeholders, and tourism service providers. Together, they showcased a comprehensive and market-ready tourism ecosystem of the State.
The Odisha Pavilion emerged as one of the most engaging exhibits at the bazaar, drawing strong interest from international buyers, Foreign Tour Operators (FTOs), and Destination Management Companies (DMCs). The State conducted over 120 business-to-government (G2B) meetings and networking sessions, highlighting its diverse tourism offerings across heritage, spiritual, coastal, eco, and experiential segments.
Odisha also showcased its enhanced readiness for global tourism and MICE opportunities, supported by the amended Odisha Tourism Policy 2026. The policy focuses on strengthening infrastructure, promoting investment, and positioning Odisha as an investor-friendly and competitive destination.
Stakeholders from Odisha held multiple business discussions with international buyers, resulting in promising partnerships and future collaboration prospects. This engagement is expected to further enhance the State’s global visibility and strengthen ties with international tourism stakeholders.
The participation also acts as a precursor to the 7th edition of Odisha Travel Bazaar, scheduled from October 3 to 5, 2026, which aims to bring leading Foreign Tour Operators, Destination Management Companies, and buyers to the State, thereby boosting inbound tourism and investment opportunities.
These recognitions underline Odisha’s rising profile as a distinctive tourism destination on the global stage. The Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha, stated that it will continue to strengthen international partnerships, improve visitor experiences, and attract investments to further elevate the State’s tourism sector.
