Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet has approved waiver of land revenue worth Rs 13.07 lakh for an approach road to the NDRF complex at Mundali in Cuttack district.

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department’s proposal covers 0.70 decimal of government land in Mouza-Chakradharpur under Baranga Tahasil. The land was allotted to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the 3rd Battalion, National Disaster Response Force, Mundali.

The waiver includes the capitalized value of land revenue and interest accrued since advance possession was handed over. The total amount waived is Rs 13,07,718.The land is being used to construct an approach road from the Banki-Cuttack State Highway to the NDRF Complex. Collector, Cuttack had sanctioned alienation of the land in 2013 and possession was handed over in 2014.

The Cabinet noted that NDRF is a non-commercial organization under the Government of India engaged in critical disaster response and public service. The road is used for operational purposes, not commercial activity, and directly benefits the people of Odisha.
