A 60-year-old woman, Tula Behera of Kandhamal, who begs for money to meet her daily needs, used to keep some savings in a postal account. She decided to donate Rs 1 lakh to the Jagannath temple at Phulbani as she owed her existence to the Almighty, according to her.

India has over 27 million borewells. According to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), since 2009, over 40 children have died after falling into borewells and over 70 % of rescue operations failed.
